The Rough Guide task made me discover Brixton, an exciting district in south London, for the first time. This multi-ethnic residential area is essentially composed of African and Caribbean descent, and has a prominent inner market as well as outer one.
At first sight, the residents seemed unapproachable and very cautious. Taking pictures was difficult considering the area’s strong reputation of cannabis use and sale of illegal goods.
Nonetheless, Brixton is a colorful, unique, authentic place like nowhere else in London. It is also known for its nightlife- bars, pubs, clubs, as well as events usually organized in the indoor part of the market.
